Constructed Landscapes

Constructed landscape considers the relationship between humans and nature. The work draws on the landscape traditions of the Romanticist painters of the seventeenth century who expressed the changing view of humans relationship to nature and notions of the sublime. These constructed landscapes explore the visible and the invisible relationship between man and nature, the persistent desire and drive of humans to conquer and control nature on a physical and biological level. As we increasingly disrupt the intricate balance of nature and the ecosystems that support life on earth, with a preoccupation for the advancement of human life, our vulnerability to the uncontrollable forces of nature becomes more and more apparent.
