Melt Rise Fall

Melt Rise Fall is a blog that arose from an attempt to make a piece of work called Rise Fall. Rise Fall (2012) is an outline for an ice installation that considered the reducing volume of The Arctic ice cap and the rapid changes taking place in the size of the ice caps due to rising air temperatures, changes that were being clearly captured by NASA.  The blog was the response to the irony of the cost of creation of an ice installation, the cost of converting water to it’s solid form, to raise awareness of the impossibility of valuing the role of the arctic in maintaining the delicate balance of the earth systems. The work as well as intending to raise awareness was also intended to raise money for organisations raising awareness about the global warming.
